SKINNING OVER
Skin is the biggest organ of any animal. Wide, spacious surfaces protect the fragility of the insides. Stabbed, cut or taken off reveals the fluid, unstable form invading the outside world. One flushes the other, and the other infects the sailed-out fluid. If the garment states the skin, every cut reveals what is protected.
To cut and deconstruct means to expand
To peel means to unhide
To puncture means to search
To reconstruct means to respect
To create means to hope.
The collection comprises around ten wearable objects that expand spatially. Each form carries the memory of an existing, worn garment. Some pieces are jacquard-knitted and threaded with metal rope; others are worked directly with wire.
